The Research Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, and execution of research activities conducted by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). This role will assist with managing research projects, coordinating with the Director of Research, partnering with the Research Advisory Panel, supporting data collection and analysis efforts, and helping disseminate research findings. The Research Coordinator is expected to perform the duties and responsibilities with exceptional attention to detail. The ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities are also needed.

  • Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of public health, infection prevention, or research experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience participating and coordinating research projects.
  • Strong research methodology and analytical skills.
  • Experience with survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Microsoft Forms).
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis programs (e.g., R, SAS, STATA)
  • Advanced data management skills.

Summary:

Research Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities for association-sponsored research projects.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with research collaborators, committees, external partners, and the Research Advisory Panel.
  • Assist in the development and management of research protocols and documentation.

Data Collection and Management:

  • Collect, clean, organize, and maintain datasets and research materials
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant policies.

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of research findings
  • Prepare research summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for staff, leadership, and members

Member and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate research participation among APIC Research Network Members
  • Support focus groups and survey administration

Publication and Dissemination

  • Assist in producing peer-reviewed journal articles and reports
  • Support dissemination of research through webinars, conferences, newsletters, and digital platform
  • Ensure consistency and quality of research outputs
