Description:

The Parts Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations while providing excellent customer service and maintaining professionalism. This person leads and supports the parts warehouse team, ensures inventory accuracy and organization, and serves as the point of escalation for customer and technician parts needs. This role combines hands-on warehouse work with team coordination, training, and process oversight.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead, coach, and support parts warehouse associates in daily tasks and priorities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and model service standards for the team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional and safe work environment.
  • Oversee efficient and accurate picking, put away, delivery, and customer will call.
  • Assign and balance workload among team members based on order volume and priority.
  • Fabricate hoses and assist with hands-on warehouse tasks as needed.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving of freight, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process and review customer and shop orders, returns, and backorders.
  • Apply and reinforce inventory control principles across the team.
  • Interact with customers to determine parts needs, process orders, and communicate status.
  • Look up parts in the system and assist team members with complex or unusual lookups.
  • Demonstrate and enforce proper cash handling and payment procedures.
  • Ensure the team follows Contamination Control guidelines.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for customer issues or concerns.
  • Train new associates on processes, systems, and standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate availability needs to management.
  • Attend to afterhours call schedule as required.
  • Support scheduling coverage for weekend, holiday, and evening needs as needed.
Requirements:

 WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Prior experience in a parts warehouse, inventory, or related role, with demonstrated leadership or mentoring ability.
  • Ability to work overtime as a job requirement dependent on department needs.
  • Availability for weekend, holiday or evening work as required by after-hours schedule.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, and communicate them clearly to a team.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and to guide others in doing the same.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in both standardized and non-standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software and Order processing systems; DBS; SIS.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet and maintain company driving requirements if required to drive a company vehicle.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and explosives.
