Overview:
The Integration Developer builds, tests, and documents API, data, and service integrations for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Department’s mission.
Responsibilities:
- Supports modernization by enabling data exchange, contributing to migration activities, and ensuring that integrations are properly configured, validated, and documented in alignment with VA technical, security, and architecture standards
- Build, test, and document API and data integrations between VAEISS, BOSSE, MBMS, and external VA business systems.
- Support ETL/ELT processes, legacytomodern system transitions, and integration of internal/external data sources.
- Develop scripts for data migrations, environment configuration, and interface implementation
- Configure integrations across development, test, staging, and production environments, ensuring consistency and proper setup
- Ensure all integrations are tested in VAapproved environments at the unit, functional, and integration levels before release.
- Support UAT, IV&V, and ISQA testing by providing required integrationspecific data and configuration artifacts.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or an IT-related degree with 7-10 years' experience
- Experience supporting ETL/ELT, legacytocloud migrations, and crosssystem data exchange.
- Experience documenting integration configurations, environment setups, and validation procedures.
- Experience supporting integration testing across unit, functional, system, and performance test cycles.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and contributing to Sprint deliverables
- Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SOAP (if applicable), message queues, and microservice integration patterns.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools, database scripting (DDL/DML), and data transformation techniques.

- Use of Java, Node.js, React, Ruby/Rails; Oracle; .NET
