Job Summary
The Joint Commission Support Officer is responsible for the upkeep, organization, and validation of The Joint Commission (TJC) compliance binders and supports ongoing accreditation readiness. The Officer ensures that Facilities Management documentation complies with TJC Physical Environment (PE) Standards, formerly known as Environment of Care (EC) and Life Safety (LS) Standards. This includes conducting ongoing reviews, maintaining required documentation, assisting with training, and supporting site readiness efforts.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain, update, and validate TJC compliance binders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current PE Standards (previously EC and LS Standards).
  • Conduct ongoing compliance reviews of Facilities Management documentation, processes, and Life Safety activities in accordance with TJC PE requirements.
  • Monitor EP due dates, verify adherence to testing frequencies, and ensure continuous accreditation readiness.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve documentation or compliance discrepancies; promptly notify the CMM of any issues that cannot be resolved at the team level.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of training related to TJC compliance and PE Standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between FSI staff and Government compliance personnel for TJC binder requirements and PE-related documentation.
  • Generate and distribute reports that support verification of compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Verify recorded information for accuracy and completeness across all assigned compliance materials.
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Any discrepancies or issues that cannot be resolved with immediate data management team members must be promptly conveyed to the Contract Maintenance Manager (CMM).
  • Reports directly to the CMM.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree in health administration or a health-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience.
  • Shall possess strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Administrative and clinical experience is preferred
  • Experience with analysis of accreditation standards and policies required.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must have computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NACI/LAC clearance after hire.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
