Business Systems Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with partners across finance-related functions, including accounting, treasury, actuarial, audit, and planning teams, to understand operational workflows and translate business objectives into actionable analysis.
• Gather, document, refine, and confirm both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring shared understanding across business and technical groups while addressing gaps or conflicting viewpoints.
• Define financial data needs for reporting, dashboards, and analytical use cases, including support for ongoing reporting obligations and future enhancements.
• Evaluate connections between core finance applications and external data sources to help maintain reliable information flow and support business reporting needs.
• Analyze business challenges, assess downstream impacts, and present well-reasoned options and recommendations to guide decision-making.
• Use a consultative approach to interpret stakeholder questions, identify underlying needs, and convert them into clear solution concepts, features, and detailed requirements.
• Contribute to feature development and backlog refinement in Jira or a similar Agile tool, helping teams organize priorities and advance delivery work effectively.
• Partner with internal teams, vendors, and offshore resources to coordinate analysis activities, facilitate communication, and support accountable execution.
• Support a hybrid work model by collaborating onsite in Westfield Center, Ohio on key team days and participating remotely as business needs allow.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in business analysis, business systems analysis, or a related role.• Background working with finance or accounting business processes such as planning, forecasting, ledger management, close activities, billing, or expense-related workflows.
• Hands-on experience eliciting requirements, documenting business needs, and supporting delivery in Agile or Scrum environments.
• Proficiency with Jira or similar backlog management tools for feature creation, tracking, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake, along with working knowledge of ETL processes and cloud-based technologies.
• Understanding of data governance practices, metadata concepts, data quality standards, and compliance considerations.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking, sound problem-solving ability, and success working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and offshore resources.
Compensation
