Data Security Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Partner with compliance and privacy leadership to advance departmental priorities, ongoing initiatives, and day-to-day operational objectives.
• Perform internal reviews, risk evaluations, and control assessments to measure adherence to privacy, security, and regulatory expectations.
• Examine business processes, applications, and technical safeguards to uncover compliance concerns, operational weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
• Assist with third-party audits and formal assessments by gathering documentation, coordinating stakeholder responses, and monitoring corrective actions through completion.
• Analyze reporting, trends, and supporting data to detect potential gaps in compliance, emerging security issues, and recurring risk patterns.
• Contribute to the creation, revision, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and standards related to privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
• Support awareness initiatives by helping deliver training on cybersecurity, privacy obligations, phishing prevention, and ethical practices.
• Participate in reviews of compliance matters, privacy incidents, and security events, including documentation, follow-up, and remediation support.
• Advise employees and leaders on applicable privacy, security, and risk requirements while working closely with IT, compliance, and business teams on shared initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Experience in cybersecurity, information security, privacy, compliance, risk management, or a closely related discipline.• Working knowledge of healthcare privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA requirements and broader federal and state compliance obligations.
• Familiarity with recognized frameworks and standards such as NIST, PCI-DSS, data loss prevention practices, and identity and access management concepts.
• Background in audits, risk assessments, monitoring activities, control testing, or similar assurance functions.
• Ability to review business and technical controls, identify risk exposure, and recommend practical corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing reports, policies, presentations, and other formal documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with comfort learning new tools, systems, and databases.
• Healthcare industry experience, including exposure to EHR environments, is preferred.
