Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a Contract assignment in Canton, Massachusetts. This role will focus on supporting a reconciliation-driven initiative while assisting with audit-related deliverables and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate brings strong close-cycle accounting experience and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities:
• Lead account and bank reconciliation activities, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post journal entries that support accurate financial reporting and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Contribute to month-end close processes by organizing schedules, validating balances, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide accounting support for audit requests by compiling documentation, answering questions, and coordinating required financial details.
• Review ledger activity for completeness and accuracy, identifying variances and recommending corrective action where needed.
• Maintain clear supporting documentation for reconciliations, entries, and close-related work to ensure audit readiness.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information and clarify account activity tied to the reconciliation project.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience performing month-end close activities in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial statement support.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, including analysis and resolution of variances.
• Practical experience completing bank reconciliations and maintaining supporting records.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a Contract role.
• Strong attention to detail and solid communication skills for audit and cross-functional support.

Compensation

$35.00-$40.00 Hourly
