Medical Receptionist

Compensation: $20.90 to $24.20 Hourly

We are looking for a compassionate and organized Medical Receptionist to support a busy healthcare office. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming patient experience while keeping front office operations running efficiently. In this role, you will coordinate appointments, manage records, and serve as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and staff. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to stay composed in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients, visitors, and team members with a courteous and detail-oriented approach while creating a positive front desk experience.
• Coordinate appointments for multiple providers and services, ensuring schedules are accurate and well organized.
• Enter and maintain patient information with precision, keeping records complete, current, and properly filed.
• Provide assistance with virtual visits and telehealth-related interactions when remote patient support is needed.
• Safeguard confidential information and follow healthcare privacy and compliance standards in all front office activities.
• Track office supply levels, help manage equipment calendars, and maintain an orderly reception and administrative area.
• Recognize urgent concerns and relay them promptly to clinical staff or leadership for timely follow-up.
• Work closely with providers and administrative colleagues to support efficient daily workflows and a strong patient experience.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Prior experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare front office position is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records, medical practice management tools, and patient engagement platforms is preferred.
• Experience using Athenahealth is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and administrative skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to remain calm, attentive to detail, and discreet when handling sensitive information in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
