Accounting Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting operations across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and general financial recordkeeping to maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures that strengthen efficiency, internal control, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Enter, review, and maintain invoice and billing information within accounting systems to ensure records remain current and accurate.
• Prepare and manage profit and loss statements, balance sheet reporting, and recurring financial updates for weekly, quarterly, and annual review cycles.
• Partner with leadership to build budgets, forecasts, and financial projections that support business planning and operational decision-making.
• Oversee collections activity, monitor outstanding receivables, and help keep account balances within established targets.
• Perform cash flow monitoring and financial analysis, then present clear findings and risk insights to management during business reviews and planning discussions.
• Coordinate tax-related payments and support reporting obligations required by local, state, and federal authorities.
• Assist with additional operational and administrative tasks such as shipment tracking, purchasing office or supply items, logistics coordination, packing documentation, and general office support.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• At least 5 years of experience handling broad accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, and budget support.
• Demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Pro in an accounting environment that requires strong attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with solid working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
• Experience preparing and analyzing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, billing records, and account reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly.
• Background in office administration and the ability to balance accounting work with light operational support tasks.
• Experience with Concur is a plus.
Compensation
