Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a well-established manufacturing company in San Antonio, Texas. This Long-term Contract opportunity focuses on promotional accounting activities, including the review of trade allowances, customer deductions, and pricing-related payment variances. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to work across internal teams and external partners to maintain accurate financial records and timely resolution of issues.

Responsibilities:
• Review promotional agreements, trade allowances, and related payment activity to ensure transactions are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Investigate deduction claims and off-invoice pricing variances by gathering support from sales teams, brokers, distributors, and customers.
• Pursue recovery of unauthorized deductions and write-offs in accordance with company guidelines and established controls.
• Verify that trade spending activity aligns with internal policies, contractual terms, and approved procedures.
• Research discrepancies within promotional arrangements and coordinate corrections to maintain clean and accurate records.
• Analyze customer and product-level financial activity to help present a reliable view of profitability.
• Apply accounts receivable knowledge to reconcile invoices, payment details, and cash-related activity tied to promotions.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve billing and pricing issues that affect account balances and collections.
• Maintain organized documentation and clear audit trails for deductions, claims, and promotional payment support.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with foundational knowledge of accounting principles at an entry level.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting or a closely related finance function.
• Working knowledge of both accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Experience handling deductions, invoicing, cash applications, collections, or related account reconciliation activities.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced business environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external business partners.
• Prior exposure to broker operations or promotional accounting environments is preferred.

Compensation

$22.00-$25.00 Hourly
