Legal Secretary
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, revise, and finalize litigation documents for submission, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with court rules.
• Manage electronic and traditional filings in California state and federal courts, tracking deadlines and confirming timely submissions.
• Develop Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities manually for briefs, motions, and other court-ready materials.
• Draft, process, and coordinate service of subpoenas for matters within California and in other jurisdictions.
• Organize and maintain client records, case materials, and supporting documentation so files remain current and accessible.
• Handle incoming telephone calls courteously, routing messages and inquiries to the appropriate parties.
• Oversee attorney calendars, monitor key case dates, and assist with day-to-day litigation support activities to keep matters on schedule.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in a legal secretary role supporting litigation matters.
• Working knowledge of filing procedures for California state courts and federal courts.
• Demonstrated experience preparing, issuing, and serving subpoenas.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Macintosh systems is advantageous.
• Strong proofreading, organization, and written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet strict deadlines, and work with minimal supervision
