Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join a team in Fayetteville, Arkansas in a contract-to-permanent role. This position will support day-to-day financial operations while helping maintain accurate records, strong controls, and dependable reporting. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across core accounting functions and can manage deadlines in a detail-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee invoice processing and payment activities, ensuring vendor transactions are recorded correctly and completed within required timeframes.
• Track customer billing and incoming payments, follow up on outstanding balances, and resolve account questions with accuracy and professionalism.
• Maintain general ledger integrity by preparing journal entries, reviewing account activity, and correcting variances when needed.
• Complete bank and cash reconciliations each month, research unmatched items, and clear discrepancies promptly.
• Support monthly close activities by preparing reconciliations, verifying financial data, and helping deliver timely internal reports.
• Assist with year-end accounting tasks, including audit support, documentation preparation, and schedules needed for compliance reporting.
• Produce financial information and account analysis for management to support business visibility and decision-making.
• Work within accounting and ERP platforms to manage transactions efficiently while upholding established accounting standards and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience covering payables, receivables, general ledger activity, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Oracle-based platforms, or similar tools.
• Strong Excel skills, including functions such as pivot tables and lookups for analysis and reconciliation work.
• Practical experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
• Working knowledge of financial reporting, audit support, and compliance-focused accounting practices.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through when managing multiple accounting priorities.

Compensation

$24.70-$28.60 Hourly
