Staff Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join an organization in Waverly, Nebraska on a Contract basis. This onsite role to keep daily accounting activities running smoothly and accurately. The ideal candidate brings strong general accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Accounts Receivable activities, including payment processing and account reconciliation.
• Manage and track prepaid expenses and related accounting entries.
• Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end accounting processes and general ledger maintenance.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Assist with various accounting projects and operational needs.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff-level or similar accounting role.

• Background in positions such as Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or related titles.

• Solid knowledge of core accounting practices, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.

• Experience processing payroll and maintaining supporting payroll records is preferred.

• Familiarity with Sage 100 (On-Premises) is preferred

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

• Well-developed organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in construction, contractor, or project-driven environments is helpful.
