Sr. AP Analyst

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to join our Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) team. As a salaried employee of Robert Half, you will be deployed on a variety of client engagements across the Bay Area, supporting accounting teams through growth, system implementations, process improvements, audits, acquisitions, leave coverage, and other critical business initiatives.

This role is ideal for an AP professional who enjoys variety, continuous learning, and exposure to different industries and accounting environments while maintaining the stability and benefits of full-time employment.

What You'll Do

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing in high-volume environments.
• Review, code, and process invoices in accordance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Perform 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.
• Analyze AP aging reports and proactively resolve outstanding items.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and payment exceptions.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks.
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate vendor records.
• Assist with month-end close activities, accruals, and AP-related account reconciliations.
• Support audits by compiling AP schedules and providing requested documentation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce errors.
• Participate in ERP system implementations, upgrades, conversions, and testing efforts.
• Generate reporting and analytical insights related to AP trends, spending, and vendor management.
• Partner closely with procurement, operations, project managers, and accounting leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience.

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Experience supporting high-volume AP environments.

Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.

Experience with one or more ERP systems such as:

• SAP
• Oracle
• NetSuite
• Workday
• Microsoft Dynamics
• Sage

Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to different client environments.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
