Junior Accountant

A growing healthcare services organization in Escondido is adding a Junior Accountant to its accounting department. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who wants hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and month-end close.

You'll work closely with experienced accounting professionals and have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities as you become more comfortable with the company's systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic journal entries and accounting transactions
• Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger documentation
• Assist with Accounts Payable invoice processing
• Post customer payments and assist with Accounts Receivable
• Prepare account reconciliation schedules
• Assist with monthly close activities
• Research discrepancies and correct accounting information
• Maintain organized financial records
• Assist with recurring financial reports and spreadsheets
• Support audits and special accounting projects

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Understanding of debits, credits, and basic accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar software is a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger team
