ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Docket Coordinators responsibilities include performing electronic filings in federal, state, and appellate courts, as well as agencies and other tribunals; assisting with procedural and filing questions and research; calculating and calendaring dates and deadlines generated by court documents and other papers; and monitoring and interpreting court and agency rules. Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position.
Court Services
- Electronically file documents in federal, state, and appellate courts, as well as agencies and other tribunals, applying knowledge of their respective electronic filing systems.
- Review documents prior to filing for conformity with court requirements and effectively convey detailed information to ensure compliance with court rules.
- Communicate electronic filing procedures, requirements, and updates to attorneys, paralegals, and practice coordinators.
- Select and direct third-party attorney service vendors for filing, delivery, or court research; build strong relationships with outside providers to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform general procedural research in jurisdictions nationwide, collaborating with team members and other departments as necessary.
Calendar / Rules
- Calculate and calendar dates and deadlines triggered by court documents and other papers via the automated docketing system.
- Apply seasoned knowledge of rules and docketing procedures for state and federal courts and other jurisdictional bodies; advise attorneys accordingly.
- Follow established departmental standards to ensure accuracy and consistency of calendar entries.
- Prepare and distribute weekly firmwide calendar reports within established departmental timelines.
- Maintain and monitor court/agency rule and procedure updates and advise attorneys and staff accordingly.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelors degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum 23 years of experience with docketing and e-filing in state and federal courts, agencies, and other tribunals.
- Working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil and Appellate Procedure, local and state court rules, agency and tribunal rules, and other requirements related to e-filing, docketing, and calendaring.
- Experience with CompuLaw or a similar docketing system preferred.
- Ability to independently manage assignments from inception through completion with minimal supervision or broad guidance.
- Strong judgment and analytical skills, including the ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and other department-specific applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated reliability, responsiveness, and initiative.

Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications. Washington, D.C. salary range: $76k to $106k
