Job Description
Summary:
The Chief Inspector supports the MRO Quality Manager in the daily operation and oversight of the MRO Quality Department within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. This role assists in ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs meet regulatory, technical, and company standards. The Chief Inspector plays a key part in the inspection, documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement of the station's quality system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supports the MRO Quality Manager by guiding the Final Inspection (RTS) team.
• Assist in performing and reviewing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components under repair.
• Support the review and approval of work orders, maintenance records, and return-to-service documentation (e.g., FAA Form 8130-3).
• Verify that all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with current technical data, manuals, and FAA regulations.
• Help maintain up-to-date technical publications and ensure their proper use on the shop floor.
• Assist with internal audits, corrective actions, and process improvements.
• Support the calibration and control of tools, equipment, and inspection devices.
• Help maintain training records, qualification tracking, and procedural updates.
• Interface with technicians to clarify discrepancies and support quality troubleshooting.
• Monitor compliance with the Repair Station and Quality Control Manual procedures.
• Act as a liaison in the absence of the MRO Quality Manager, as delegated.
• Provide administrative and technical support during FAA, customer, or internal audits.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
• Regular, predictable attendance is required.
• Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

• Must have demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Work is performed in office and shop environments. Noise level is moderate.
• May require standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
• Use of PPE and adherence to safety standards is required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Current Airframes/Powerplants (A&P) license or ability to meet the requirements to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate within 45 days. REQUIRED
• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or aviation-related coursework preferred.
• Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and electronic component inspections.
• 3+ years of experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station inspection role or equivalent MRO environment.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations, including FAR Part 43, 65, and 145.
• Ability to read and interpreting technical CMMs, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and test procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, ERP/MRO software).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced maintenance environment. Take direction from the MRO Quality Manager
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screening as required by FAA regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Exposure to EASA, CAAC, or other international aviation standards.
• Prior experience in a quality assurance or regulatory compliance role.
• Knowledge of AS9110, ISO 9001, or similar quality systems.
