IT Support Specialist

North State Bank has an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Specialist in our Information Technology Department located on our corporate campus in Raleigh, NC. This role provides first level support of workstation hardware, software, operating systems, applications and the bank’s core operating system. Due to the nature of the the IT Support Specialist role, this is a required in-office role.

In this role, you'll serve as a key member of the IT team, providing first-line support for hardware, software, applications, and bank systems. You'll work across the organization to troubleshoot issues, deploy technology solutions, support infrastructure initiatives, and help ensure our employees have the tools they need to succeed.

What You'll Do
Deliver Outstanding Technical Support
- Provide prompt, professional support to employees through the IT helpdesk while meeting established service levels and response expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve workstation, software, operating system, application, and connectivity issues.
- Serve as a trusted technology resource by delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication to users at all levels of the organization.
- Provide end-user training and guidance to promote effective and secure use of technology resources.
Support End-User Technology
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and retire desktop and laptop computers in accordance with IT standards and security requirements.
- Install, configure, support, and decommission printers, scanners, image capture devices, and other workstation peripherals.
- Prepare hardware for disposal through secure removal of locally stored data and proper asset handling procedures.
- Assist with IT asset inventory, lifecycle management, and hardware/software deployments.
Collaborate Across IT Operations
- Partner with System Administrators to support patch deployment, testing, vulnerability remediation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist with mobile device provisioning, configuration, support, and deprovisioning.
- Coordinate with Infrastructure and Network teams to support user moves, technology installations, and service provisioning.
- Support the Bank's voice and collaboration technologies, including end-user telephony equipment and software.
Support Business Operations
- Provide technology and audio-visual support for meetings, presentations, and special events.
- Coordinate with business units to provision and support technology resources required for audits and examinations.
- Work alongside vendor technicians supporting facilities systems, including HVAC, access control, and emergency services technologies.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts that enhance technology reliability, efficiency, and the employee experience.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in information technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of desktop support or helpdesk experience within a professional business environment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and related hardware.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting technology within a regulated industry such as banking, financial services, healthcare, or insurance.
- Experience supporting devices within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
- Familiarity with endpoint management, patching, mobile device support, and security best practices.
- Experience working in a team-oriented IT operations environment[KN1] .
