Your New Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst for an 8 month secondment who can combine strong communication skills with technical understanding to bridge the gap between business needs and delivery outcomes. This role will suit someone who is confident working with diverse stakeholders, comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and capable of driving clarity, alignment and momentum across Agile projects.

This role will support work connected to the Australian Digital Health Agency’s digital health environment, contributing to initiatives that strengthen secure, connected and interoperable healthcare services across Australia. The project context includes nationally significant health information platforms such as My Health Record, helping improve access to key health information for consumers and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply a good balance of communication and technical skills to understand business domain knowledge and translate needs into clear actionable business requirements.

  • Engage confidently with stakeholders across different levels and areas such as architecture, clients, project management, testing and development teams

  • Elicit, analyse, breakdown and maintain a well structured backlog of requirements using online requirements management platforms such as Azure DevOps

  • Able to influence and drive direction in large discussions or workshops to help teams reach practical outcomes

  • Seasoned practitioner in Agile projects and able to not only participate, but run and organise day to day as well as larger agile ceremonies.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively to support delivery within an ambiguous environment

  • Use sound negotiation and problem solving skills to help stakeholders align on a common positive outcome

  • Health domain knowledge preferable but not mandatory

About You and What You'll Bring

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and Agile certification

  • Extensive experience leading requirements in complex technology environments, facilitating stakeholder workshops and governance forums, and coaching embedded analysts/systems engineers.

  • Strong track record producing clear, testable requirements and user stories, running review and approval processes, and maintaining end‑to‑end traceability in Jira.

  • Proven impact analysis across systems, data, processes, operations and security; effective management of risks, assumptions and dependencies; and definition of measurable, testable non‑functional requirements.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum Baseline level clearance.
