Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for an immediate contract opportunity with a manufacturing organization in Post Falls, Idaho. This role will manage a high-volume AP environment processing approximately 100+ invoices and transactions per day while supporting accurate, timely payments and strong vendor relationships.

Manufacturing experience and prior ERP experience are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with complex systems, and able to maintain accuracy while handling a consistently high transaction volume.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions daily, including coding, matching, approvals, and payment preparation.
• Perform three-way matching and research discrepancies involving purchase orders, receipts, pricing, quantities, and vendor invoices.
• Manage recurring payment runs through checks, ACH, and wire transfers while meeting established deadlines.
• Enter and maintain accurate AP data within the company’s ERP system.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research outstanding items, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status, invoice issues, and account balances.
• Maintain vendor records, tax documentation, and AP files to support compliance, audits, and accurate 1099 reporting.
• Monitor AP aging, reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger, and assist with month-end close activities.
• Prepare accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce manual processing.
• Support other accounting projects and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Prior high-volume accounts payable experience, ideally processing 100+ transactions per day
• Manufacturing or distribution experience strongly preferred
• Experience working within an ERP system required
• Strong understanding of three-way matching, invoice coding, and payment processing
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to prioritize a large workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong Excel and communication skills
• Experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliations preferred
