Full Charge Bookkeeper
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting activities across the full cycle, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and aligned with company standards.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, internal reports, and supporting schedules to give leadership a clear view of business performance.
• Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation of balance sheet and other key accounts.
• Manage incoming and outgoing funds by handling billing, tracking receivables, following up on past-due balances, and processing vendor payments.
• Administer payroll and review related records such as employee timesheets and reimbursable expenses for accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card activity, researching discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain project-based accounting records, monitor job costs, and support reporting on profitability and related financial performance.
• Coordinate invoicing for client work and ensure billing reflects contract terms, project activity, and supporting documentation.
• Partner with external accounting or tax advisors during year-end activities and assist with additional accounting or administrative needs as required.
Qualifications:
• At least five years of practical bookkeeping or accounting experience in a hands-on role with broad ownership of financial processes.• Strong working knowledge of general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Proven ability to complete month-end close activities independently and produce reliable monthly financial information.
• Experience using accounting software and Excel effectively to manage data, prepare reports, and support analysis.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Ability to communicate clearly with leadership and respond confidently to financial questions and reporting needs.
• Background in project-based accounting environments is highly valued, particularly within engineering, architecture, construction, or other services.
• Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek Vision, QuickBooks, project billing, and profitability reporting is preferred.
Compensation
