Financial Analyst

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join a dynamic digital media and marketing organization on a Contract basis in New York, New York. This position will play a key role in supporting planning cycles, financial reporting, and performance analysis during a contract coverage period. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, advanced Excel capability, and the ability to translate financial data into clear business insights.

Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, and short-term business planning.
• Analyze operating results and investigate variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods to identify key performance drivers.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports that help leadership evaluate financial performance and business trends.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather data, validate assumptions, and support decision-making with timely analysis.
• Use large data sets and data-mining techniques to uncover patterns, risks, and opportunities that impact financial outcomes.
• Assist with budget processes by consolidating inputs, refining projections, and improving reporting accuracy.
• Create Excel-based analyses, dashboards, and presentations that communicate complex financial information clearly.
• Support additional finance projects as needed, including process-related reporting activities tied to business operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience in financial analysis, FP& A, or a closely related finance role.
• Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis functions.
• Ability to perform ad hoc analysis and synthesize findings into practical recommendations.
• Experience working with large or complex data sets using structured analytical techniques.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting concepts and performance measurement.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$32.30-$37.40 Hourly
