Guest Services Representative
Responsibilities:
• Welcome visitors at assigned museum locations and provide a positive first impression from arrival through departure.
• Guide guests through entry points, exhibit spaces, hallways, and theater areas to help maintain an organized and smooth visitor experience.
• Share clear, engaging information about museum exhibits and speak knowledgeably about the Civil Rights era.
• Offer directions, answer guest questions, and help visitors navigate the museum with confidence.
• Deliver brief prepared remarks before and after theater presentations to support the visitor experience.
• Monitor assigned coverage areas to ensure guest-facing stations remain staffed and service standards are maintained.
• Support box office and front-door interactions while contributing to visitor service and sales objectives.
• Remain attentive and detail oriented during standing assignments in public areas throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in customer service, guest-facing support, retail, or a similar public interaction role.• Strong communication skills with the ability to speak confidently to individuals and groups.
• Ability to provide courteous assistance, answer questions, and direct visitors in a busy environment.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
• Availability to work weekends and a weekly schedule that includes Tuesday closures and one additional day off.
• Detail-oriented demeanor and a service-oriented approach when interacting with diverse guests.
• Ability to learn exhibit information quickly and present key talking points clearly.
• Experience supporting sales, admissions, or front-line retail service is preferred.
Compensation
