Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a construction-focused team in Upland, California on a Contract basis. This short-term opportunity is ideal for someone with solid accounts payable experience who can step in quickly and help maintain invoice accuracy and processing efficiency. The assignment is expected to last 1-2 weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs.

Responsibilities:
• Enter accounts payable data accurately and maintain organized records to support timely payment processing.
• Review purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to complete three-way matching and resolve discrepancies when needed.
• Route invoices to the appropriate stakeholders for approval and follow through to ensure prompt processing.
• Scan, copy, and file supporting documentation so payment records remain complete and accessible.
• Assist the team with invoice coding and day-to-day payable functions in a fast-moving environment.
• Provide accounts payable support related to software conversion activities while preserving accuracy and continuity in workflow.
• Contribute to check run and ACH payment preparation as needed to support the broader AP process.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of accounts payable experience in a business environment with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated accuracy and strong attention to detail when entering and reviewing financial information.
• Practical experience with three-way matching, invoice coding, and general AP processing.
• Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and support team needs as they arise.
• Proficiency with Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with payment processes such as ACH transactions and check runs.
• Comfortable handling document management tasks, including scanning, copying, and maintaining invoice records.

Compensation

$19.79-$22.91 Hourly
