Payroll-Operations Consultant - ENT

We are looking for a skilled Payroll-Operations Consultant to support process improvement and workflow automation initiatives in Charlotte, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position will focus on evaluating operational pain points, redesigning business processes, and creating efficient solutions that reduce manual effort across teams. The role works closely with stakeholders to turn business needs into practical workflows, reporting tools, and scalable automation using Microsoft 365 technologies and Asana.

Responsibilities:

• Lead collaborative sessions with stakeholders to uncover workflow inefficiencies, delays, and repetitive manual tasks across payroll and operational processes.

• Document current procedures and design future-state process models using clear visual mapping techniques that support process standardization and improvement.

• Convert business needs into organized workflow logic, actionable process steps, and clearly defined operational requirements.

• Produce reports and dashboards that present meaningful performance data, highlight trends, and support better business decisions.

• Oversee data extraction activities and ensure information is prepared accurately for analysis, reporting, and workflow execution.

• Create intuitive intake forms and request pathways that collect complete information at the start of a process to improve efficiency and reduce rework.

• Configure automated workflows in platforms such as Asana and Microsoft Power Automate to manage routing, approvals, notifications, and task progression.

• Act as an internal resource for platform administration by maintaining Asana structures, custom fields, portfolio views, and workflow-related reporting.

• Support adoption of new processes by delivering training, gathering user feedback, and refining workflows based on business needs and measurable outcomes.

• Define and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate process effectiveness, reduce errors, and identify additional improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in business analysis, process redesign, and operational workflow optimization.
• Hands-on expertise building forms, rules, and workflow solutions within Asana.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Power Automate and the broader Microsoft 365 environment.
• Ability to create reporting outputs and dashboards that communicate metrics, trends, and process performance clearly.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling operational and payroll-related processes.
• Experience with change management, user training, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile, Lean Six Sigma, SAP environments, or service-based organizations is preferred.

Compensation

$25.00-$30.00 Hourly
