Paralegal
Responsibilities:
• Support attorneys throughout probate and estate administration matters, from initial file setup through final closing activities.
• Prepare, review, and submit probate petitions, court forms, notices, inventories, and related legal documents in accordance with Texas filing requirements.
• Draft routine correspondence and legal materials connected to estate matters, ensuring documents are complete, accurate, and ready for attorney review.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, courts, beneficiaries, and financial institutions to gather information and provide updates on matter status.
• Organize case records, monitor important dates, and maintain calendars to help ensure deadlines and court obligations are met.
• Assist with estate planning documentation, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other supporting instruments.
• Examine financial records, asset details, and supporting paperwork to help assemble probate and estate administration files.
• Coordinate practical case activities such as hearings, document execution, and notarization while following firm and court procedures.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in a paralegal role focused on probate, estate planning, or closely related legal work.• Working knowledge of Texas probate practice, court procedures, and filing standards.
• Experience preparing legal documents and supporting estate administration and probate matters.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and time-sensitive deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, courts, and third parties.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal case management software.
• Familiarity with litigation support, discovery, civil litigation, or trial preparation is helpful.
• A paralegal certificate is preferred.
