Accountant
We are looking for a PART-TIME Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for an organization based in Spokane, Washington. This Long-term Contract position calls for a detail-oriented individual who can manage accounting activities with accuracy, maintain strong financial controls, and help produce reliable reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of payables, receivables, reconciliations, and general ledger activity while working collaboratively with teams across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee detailed invoicing activities and ensure billing practices align with applicable grant terms and funding guidelines.
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices while maintaining timely and accurate accounts payable operations.
• Monitor employee time records across multiple programs and funding streams and reconcile entries to support proper cost allocation.
• Complete account and bank reconciliations to preserve accurate financial records and quickly resolve variances.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support general ledger accuracy and month-to-month financial integrity.
• Examine financial information to identify inconsistencies, investigate discrepancies, and provide insight for business decisions.
• Contribute to financial reporting for grants, operational programs, and internal stakeholders by compiling complete and dependable data.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure expenses are assigned correctly across departments, programs, and funding sources.
Qualifications:
• Hands-on accounting experience in roles involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger support.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing detailed bank and account reconciliations.
• Experience supporting grant-related or fund-based accounting activities is highly valued.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to research discrepancies and recommend appropriate resolutions.
• Comfortable collaborating with internal teams to support proper expense allocation and financial reporting.
Compensation
