Sr. Accountant
Our client, a growing construction company, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in an in-office role. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting and hands-on experience managing the financial complexities of project-based work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare and analyze job costing reports to support project profitability and financial accuracy
- Maintain and report on work-in-progress (WIP) schedules
- Apply and monitor percentage of completion accounting
- Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting
- Partner with project managers and operational leaders to ensure accurate project financial tracking
- Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Help improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
Qualifications
- Strong experience with:
- Job costing
- WIP reporting
- Percentage of completion accounting
- Experience using construction accounting software, such as Foundation or similar platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
