AP Specialist
A growing medical device company in Carlsbad is adding an Accounts Payable Specialist to its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is comfortable owning the AP process while working closely with vendors, Purchasing, Operations, and Accounting leadership.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys solving invoice discrepancies, and can keep a high volume of transactions moving without sacrificing accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices from receipt through payment
- Review invoices for appropriate coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving records
- Maintain accurate vendor records and payment information
- Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding items
- Prepare weekly ACH, check, and wire payment batches
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payment status, and discrepancies
- Assist with month-end AP accruals and reconciliations
- Support 1099 preparation and year-end AP activities
- Assist with audit requests and accounting projects
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Experience with an ERP or accounting system
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- High-volume invoice processing experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Medical device, biotech, manufacturing, or life sciences experience is a plus
