A respected nonprofit organization is seeking a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to support grant reporting, compliance, budgeting, and day-to-day accounting activities. This role offers the opportunity to partner with program teams and help ensure funding is managed responsibly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit financial reports for federal, state, foundation, and other grant-funded programs.
  • Monitor grant expenditures, funding balances, and allowable costs.
  • Maintain grant records and supporting documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Reconcile grant activity to the general ledger and research discrepancies.
  • Assist with grant budgets, budget amendments, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Track program spending and communicate available funding to internal stakeholders.
  • Review invoices, purchase requests, and expense allocations for accuracy.
  • Partner with program managers to resolve questions regarding funding and expenditures.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Maintain compliance with grant agreements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with grant accounting, nonprofit accounting, or fund accounting.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, general ledger activity, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a mission-driven team.
