Director, Strategy Planning and Execution - 945

We are seeking a Director, Strategy Planning and Execution to join our team in Broomfield, Colorado. The Director, Planning & Execution is responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving Quantinuum's enterprise planning and strategy execution framework. Working in partnership with the VP Corporate Strategy and Executive leaders, the role ensures corporate strategy is translated into integrated business plans, prioritised portfolios, measurable objectives, and disciplined execution across hardware, software, services, commercial, and business functions. The role is accountable for establishing the governance, operating rhythms, performance management systems, and execution disciplines required to deliver Quantinuum's strategic objectives at scale.

Key responsibilities

  • Enterprise Planning & Governance Authority: Design, lead and serve as the enterprise authority for Quantinuum’s enterprise planning framework, including the annual and multi-year business planning process, ensuring alignment between strategy, financial plans, and operational commitments across all functions.

  • Strategy Development (STRAP) Process Execution: Own the planning and operating infrastructure supporting the corporate STRAP process, coordinating input across business functions, translating strategic priorities into clear executable plans, milestones, and deliverables across hardware, software, commercial, and business functions.

  • Strategic Initiative Delivery Oversight: Serve as the principal advisor to the VP Corporate Strategy and Executive Leaders on execution effectiveness, enterprise delivery risks, organisational capacity constraints, portfolio performance, and planning maturity. Provide data-driven recommendations to improve strategy execution and organisational effectiveness.

  • Corporate Trade-Off Facilitation: Facilitate enterprise trade off discussions with executives regarding competing priorities, resource constraints, sequencing decisions, and cross-functional dependencies. Ensure trade-off decisions are informed by clear decision-support analysis regarding data, delivery implications, and enterprise priorities.

  • Closed-Loop Execution Management: Lead the enterprise execution management process, ensuring initiatives are tracked against KPIs/OKRs, performance is reviewed regularly, and risks or gaps are escalated and addressed.

  • Cross-Functional Planning & Alignment: Partner with leaders across hardware, software, commercial, and business functions to align priorities, manage trade-offs, and ensure cohesive execution of strategic goals.

  • Enterprise Performance Tracking & Reporting: Design and manage executive-level performance dashboards and reporting to provide clear visibility into strategy execution, delivery against targets, and organisational performance.

  • Portfolio Governance & Visibility: Maintain enterprise portfolio governance processes, providing visibility into initiative progress, dependencies, risks, capacity constraints and delivery confidence to support executive investment and prioritisation decisions

  • Operational Rhythm & Governance: Establish and manage the enterprise operating cadence (e.g., QBRs, execution reviews, planning cycles and executive governance) that drive accountability and transparency across functions.

  • Risk & Dependency Management: Identify enterprise-wide execution risks, interdependencies, and bottlenecks across initiatives and functions, and drive mitigation plans to maintain delivery momentum.

  • Internal Strategy Communication Support: Partner with the VP Corporate Strategy and Marketing internal communications team to support the communication of strategic priorities, execution progress, major milestones and organisational objectives ensuring clarity and consistency across the organisation.

  • Executive Strategic projects: Lead high-priority enterprise strategic projects sponsored by the Executive Team, providing structure, leadership, governance, and execution oversight to ensure successful delivery of critical business outcomes. Partner with senior leaders to resolve complex cross-functional issues, manage risks, and drive progress against key strategic objectives

Must Haves

  • Strategic Planning & Execution Leadership (10+ years): Proven experience leading enterprise planning, strategy execution, or business operations in a complex, cross-functional environment, with accountability for driving delivery against strategic priorities.

  • Structured Problem Solving: Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and complexity.

  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Clear and concise communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and maintain alignment across teams.

Compensation & Benefits:

Incentive Eligible – Range posted is inclusive of bonus target

The pay range for this role is $220,000 – $280,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
