HR & Safety Administrative Assistant

Dalton, GA 30722, US Contract
Compensation: $19 to $22 Hourly

Are you a bilingual HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys being out on the floor rather than sitting behind a desk all day? Our client, a growing manufacturing organization in North Georgia, is looking for an HR & Safety Administrative Assistant to play a hands-on role supporting both employee needs and plant safety across multiple locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is proactive, independent, organized, and comfortable taking ownership. You’ll work closely with plant leadership, supervisors, and employees to identify safety opportunities, coordinate training, maintain compliance records, and provide support with HR-related activities.

What You'll Do:

Safety & Compliance

  • Walk the manufacturing floor regularly to identify safety concerns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Plant Managers and leadership to address safety issues and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Conduct monthly checks of first aid cabinets, safety binders, panels, and other safety-related resources.
  • Coordinate and administer safety training, including forklift and other required certifications.
  • Track employee certifications and proactively communicate upcoming expiration dates to supervisors.
  • Coordinate plant-wide training initiatives, including dock safety and other specialized programs.
  • Maintain accurate training and certification records

HR Support:

  • Assist with employee orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Provide occasional English/Spanish interpretation for employees, supervisors, and plant leadership.
  • Translate HR documents and other employee communications as needed.
  • Partner with the HR team and plant leadership on various employee-related initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills — required, including the ability to communicate and translate effectively in both languages.
  • Experience in HR, safety, manufacturing, compliance, or a related administrative role.
  • A strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize competing needs.
  • A proactive mindset with the initiative to identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through, particularly when tracking issues, training, certifications, and deadlines.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with plant managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Comfort working on the manufacturing floor and interacting with employees at all levels.

Why This Opportunity?

This is more than a traditional administrative position. You'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on workplace safety, employee training, and HR operations while working directly with plant leadership across multiple facilities.

If you're someone who is bilingual, self-motivated, hands-on, and energized by the opportunity to take initiative and make things better, we'd love to hear from you!

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in HR support, safety coordination, compliance administration, manufacturing, or a closely related role.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to interpret and translate clearly in workplace settings.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, occupational safety practices, and common safety audit processes.
• Ability to stay organized while tracking certifications, deadlines, training records, and corrective actions.
• Confidence working independently in a fast-moving environment and taking initiative without constant direction.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships with supervisors, managers, and plant employees.
• Comfortable spending time on the manufacturing floor and interacting with team members across multiple levels of the organization.
