Accounting Manager
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring reports are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Manage month-end close activities by reviewing journal entries, validating general ledger activity, and reconciling balance sheet accounts to supporting records.
• Develop and coordinate the annual budgeting process, including departmental budgets, and analyze actual results against plan to explain key variances.
• Oversee tax-related obligations by preparing required state filings, supporting income tax reporting, and confirming payments and deposits are submitted by deadlines.
• Supervise accounts payable operations by confirming invoices are properly authorized, coded correctly, and processed accurately for weekly disbursements and wire payments.
• Review inventory-related accounting activity, including daily transaction acceptance and manual adjustments, and partner with internal teams to resolve posting issues promptly.
• Provide leadership to accounting staff through training, performance monitoring, coaching, and process standardization to improve accuracy and productivity.
• Maintain organized department records and update forms, logs, and spreadsheets to support consistent documentation and workflow management.
• Act as a key contact for external tax and property tax partners by supplying year-end information, valuation support, and other required financial details.
• Review sales commission calculations based on paid customer invoices, verify payout timing, and recommend improvements to commission administration when appropriate.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in an accounting leadership role with responsibility for month-end close and financial statement preparation.• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and journal entry review.
• Experience preparing budgets, performing variance analysis, and supporting year-end reporting activities.
• Familiarity with tax compliance requirements, including sales and use tax filings and related payment deadlines.
• Background overseeing accounts payable processes, invoice approvals, and payment accuracy controls.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and evaluate accounting staff while maintaining efficient department operations.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, audit support, and maintaining accurate accounting documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and drive timely resolution.
