Payroll Administrator
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join a well-established company in Metairie, Louisiana. This position is ideal for someone who can manage payroll operations with accuracy while supporting key accounting activities in a collaborative environment. The role offers the opportunity to contribute independently, stay organized under direction, and help maintain reliable payroll processes for the business.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule for employees while ensuring all records remain current and complete.
• Administer payroll-related activities such as tax reporting, retirement plan deductions, and related reconciliations.
• Prepare and post payroll journal entries to support accurate financial reporting within the accounting function.
• Review payroll data for discrepancies, resolve issues promptly, and maintain compliance with internal procedures and applicable regulations.
• Use accounting software and Microsoft Excel to track payroll information, produce reports, and support day-to-day payroll administration.
• Coordinate with accounting team members and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is properly recorded and communicated.
• Work independently to prioritize tasks, follow instructions effectively, and contribute to the overall success of the accounting team.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience handling end-to-end payroll processing.
• Practical knowledge of payroll tax procedures and related payroll compliance activities.
• Experience preparing payroll-related journal entries and supporting accounting records.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Background in construction or engineering environments is preferred.
• An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, respond well to guidance, and take initiative in a fast-paced setting.
