Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day accounting operations for a company in the construction industry based in Stamford, Connecticut. This Contract (possibly contract to hire) opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys accounts receivable work, maintains strong accuracy in financial data entry, and is interested in supporting collection activities. The position offers hands-on exposure to invoice management and accounting systems in a collaborative onsite environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process and enter invoices accurately while maintaining organized financial records.

• Support accounts receivable activities by tracking outstanding balances and updating payment information.

• Follow up on open accounts and assist with collection efforts in a thorough and timely manner.

• Use Sage Intacct to record transactions, review account details, and maintain data accuracy.

• Perform detailed data entry related to billing, customer accounts, and payment activity.

• Communicate with internal teams and external contacts to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.

• Help ensure accounting documentation is complete, current, and aligned with company procedures.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of accounting, accounts receivable, or related clerical experience.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, invoice handling, and collections support.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience using Sage Intacct or the ability to learn accounting software quickly.
• Comfortable working onsite in Stamford, Connecticut.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and internal staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a busy environment.

Compensation

$19.95-$23.10 Hourly
