Litigation Paralegal
Responsibilities: • Manage case data within litigation support systems by updating deadlines, recording case activity, and maintaining accurate status information to support procedural compliance. • Prepare a range of legal materials for attorney review, including pleadings, subpoenas, notices, motions, affidavits, petitions, and related correspondence. • Assemble and file court documents in both state and federal jurisdictions, ensuring submissions meet applicable filing rules and deadlines. • Support discovery efforts by drafting written requests, organizing document productions, applying Bates labels, and monitoring response schedules. • Coordinate service of process by working with outside vendors, tracking completion, and collecting supporting affidavits and documentation. • Research witnesses and potential deponents through public sources, litigation databases, and investigative tools to assist case development. • Draft routine procedural filings such as requests for extensions, motions to vacate, and applications related to special service needs. • Communicate with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and third-party providers regarding filings, scheduling, and case progress. • Provide day-to-day litigation and administrative assistance through file maintenance, document organization, and general case support as matters evolve.
The pay range for this position is 20 to 30 based on experience. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Qualifications:
• 1–3 years of paralegal experience, ideally supporting civil litigation matters.• Hands-on experience with iManage and the ability to use it effectively with limited onboarding.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple deadlines and case-related tasks.
• Familiarity with discovery processes, litigation workflows, and trial preparation activities.
• Experience using case management or litigation support software in a legal environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys, courts, clients, and vendors.
• Exposure to tools such as Juris Suite, Vision, or Adobe Acrobat is helpful, though not required.
