Controller
Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Utica client of his that has grown significantly over the past few years. This is a newly created Assistant Controller role resulting from that growth. The organization offers great work-life balance and excellent benefits.
This position offers the opportunity to help oversee core accounting activities across multiple entities while contributing meaningful insight into financial performance and business trends. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and directly oversee a team consisting of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and a General Accountant. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take on additional leadership responsibility while remaining hands-on with accounting and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Help oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process across multiple entities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and other general ledger activity.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements.
- Review financial results and investigate significant variances, trends, and unusual activity.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting functions.
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff while ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met.
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and other schedules prepared by the accounting team.
- Support intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and consolidations across multiple entities.
- Assist with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and analysis related to manufacturing operations.
- Partner with operations and other departments to understand business performance and provide useful financial insight.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Help maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting.
- Support annual audits and work with external auditors as needed.
- Assist the Controller with special projects and financial initiatives as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation practices.
• Experience supervising accounting personnel and guiding day-to-day team performance.
Compensation
$115,000.00-$130,000.00 YearlyAbout Us
