Staff Accountant

Robert Half is partnering with one of our valued clients to identify a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of general accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, reconcile accounts, and help ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
• Assist with audit preparation and requests
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve accounting processes and reporting

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a staff accountant or similar role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting procedures
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a mid-size or fast-paced corporate environment
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Experience supporting audits and month-end close
