Family Medicine Physician Locum Tenens

Make a meaningful impact while practicing full-spectrum Family Medicine in a community-focused Tribal healthcare setting.

Position Highlights

• Setting: Outpatient Family Medicine / Primary Care
• Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM4:30 PM
• Patient Population: Infants through geriatric patients
• Assignment Length: 3-6 Months with an Option to Extend
• Credentialing: Approximately 6-8 Weeks

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive primary and preventive care to patients of all ages.
• Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
• Manage chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, hyperlipidemia, and other common primary care conditions.
• Provide age-appropriate preventive screenings, immunizations, and health maintenance.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate referrals to specialty care when appropriate.
• Perform minor office-based procedures within your scope and approved privileges.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventive health.
• Collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, behavioral health, dental, community health, and other members of the care team.

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted New Mexico medical license or ability to obtain licensure prior to start.
• Active, unrestricted DEA registration.
• Current BLS
• Ability to successfully complete credentialing and privileging requirements.
• Clean criminal background and acceptable NPDB review/self-query.

Preferred Experience

• Outpatient Family Medicine or Primary Care experience.
• Experience serving rural or underserved communities.
• Previous Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal Health, or 638 healthcare experience.
• Experience caring for Native American populations.
• Experience with pediatrics, behavioral health integration, addiction medicine, geriatrics, or women's health.
