Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

CHRACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS:

To service, transfer and store materials to and from the Assembly lay-up stations and the Melamine sheeters. Performs other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Enters data into the computer concerning inventory, counts, scrap, etc.

2. Performs accurate inventory transactions.

3. Operates lift to exchange pallets, reorganize deco inventory, move empty boards, etc.

4. Communicates with all pattern pullers and Melamine to fill the run schedules.

5. Pulls all treated and non-treated material for the laying up of the runs.

6. Retrieves all treated/sheeted material from the Melamine Collating/Sheeting and Melamine Treating departments to be placed into inventory.

7. Inspect material for pattern defects and proper dimensions.

8. Pull material for replacements to Assembly and/or Pressing.

9. Pull collated runs accurately and in press ready condition.

10. Participates in the Lean process.

11. Service Assembly with needed materials as quickly and efficiently as possible.

12. To prevent downtime, handle material request for the Pressing Department in a quick and professional manner.

13. Keep all pass-thru and sheeter holes clear and clean.

14. Perform lift safety checklist daily.

15. Clean lift and sweep work area daily.

16. Regular attendance required.

Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
  • Understanding of Oracle and basic inventory transactions that can impact the deco papers inventory
  • Knowledge of pattern colors and designs inventoried.
  • Ability to handle fragile raw materials
  • Ability to understand and take direction from leadership
  • Ability to operate a computer to input data.
  • Ability to be professional and use good phone etiquette

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education- High school diploma or GED
  • Experience- Six months of swift lift operating experience is preferred. If no applicants possess this experience, six months of Wilsonart manufacturing experience is acceptable.
  • Attendance- In good standing per company policy

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy Work- Tasks involving pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials of 25-75 pounds plus walking and standing during a minimum of a 10-hour shift

ENVIRONMENT:

Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
