Due to our continued growth and success, we are currently seeking a Government Sales Manager to join our staff.
Position Overview:
The General Manager of Commercial Sales will oversee the sales activity for the Raleigh facility and all commercial sales in Mexico. This position is responsible for driving revenue growth, enhancing customer service, leading training and development initiatives, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) across all locations under their jurisdiction. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership, team management, and operational excellence.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Revenue Growth: Develop and execute innovative sales strategies to achieve and surpass sales targets in the region. Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service across all branches, fostering strong relationships with new and existing clients to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Training and Development: Lead, mentor, and coach inside sales managers and sales teams to enhance their skills and performance. In partnership with Sales Training and Development Manager Implement comprehensive programs to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to achieve their sales targets.
- KPI Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor and analyze performance metrics for each site, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Provide detailed reports to senior management on sales performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Team Leadership and Management: Foster a culture of trust, excellence, collaboration, and accountability among team members. Conduct regular performance reviews, setting clear objectives and providing constructive feedback.
- Market Analysis: Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities. Adjust sales strategies as needed to maintain competitive advantage.

- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to support business growth and collaboration.
- Performance Management: Implement performance management systems to track and evaluate individual and team performance against set targets, providing regular feedback and development plans.
- Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the region. Ensure efficient resource allocation and financial management to achieve profitability targets.
- Leadership and Team Development: Provide inspirational leadership to the sales team, promoting a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and positive morale.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all sales activities and operations comply with industry regulations and company policies. Uphold high standards of professionalism and quality in all customer interactions and transactions.
- Change Management: Lead and manage change within the organization, driving innovation and adapting to market changes to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or Marketing is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales training, sales management, or a related field, preferably within distribution or similar industry.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing strategic plans..
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate training effectiveness and ROI.
- Ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel as needed up to 50% of time
