Logistics Manager
Responsibilities:
• Direct international air and ocean freight activity from origin through final delivery, ensuring shipments move efficiently and on schedule.
• Coordinate daily with carriers, customs partners, trucking providers, warehouses, and third-party logistics companies to maintain smooth cargo flow and resolve transportation issues quickly.
• Supervise drayage, transloading, storage, and domestic transportation operations while controlling accessorial expenses such as detention and demurrage.
• Maintain adherence to import/export regulations, customs standards, tariff rules, and bonded shipment requirements across all logistics activities.
• Negotiate service agreements and pricing with transportation and logistics vendors to improve margins, capacity availability, and service quality.
• Guide and develop logistics team members through coaching, training, and performance support to build a strong and capable operation.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers by providing updates, addressing escalations, and delivering responsive service solutions.
• Track operational metrics and identify opportunities to streamline workflows, raise service levels, and increase overall efficiency.
• Oversee billing and invoicing activities to support accurate charges, timely processing, and effective revenue collection.
• Work with senior leadership to align logistics operations with broader business goals, compliance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience managing international logistics operations, including air freight, ocean freight, and import/export processes.• Strong knowledge of customs compliance, trade regulations, tariff application, and in-bond shipment procedures.
• Background coordinating multiple transportation partners such as freight forwarders, brokers, carriers, trucking providers, and warehouse operators.
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop staff, and drive accountability within a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Skill in negotiating transportation rates and service agreements with a focus on cost control and operational performance.
• Experience using KPIs and process improvement methods to enhance efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
• Solid understanding of shipping, receiving, and general logistics industry practices.
• Ability to manage customer relationships professionally while resolving issues with urgency and sound judgment.
Compensation
