Robert Half has partnered with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed technology company seeking a Vice President of Legal to lead its legal function and serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership.
This is a highly visible role responsible for overseeing legal operations, commercial contracting, compliance, corporate governance, and strategic transactions. The Vice President of Legal will partner closely with the C-suite, private equity sponsors, and business leaders while helping the organization scale, expand its offerings, and navigate complex legal and regulatory matters.
What You'll Do
✅ Lead the company's legal function and serve as the primary legal advisor for the organization
✅ Own the commercial contracting strategy, partnering with Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Finance, and executive leadership
✅ Manage and optimize the contracting process, ensuring efficient review, negotiation, and execution of customer agreements
✅ Develop contract templates, playbooks, and self-service resources to support continued growth
✅ Build and oversee the company's enterprise compliance program, including regulatory compliance, insurance programs, and risk management initiatives
✅ Partner with Information Security and operational leaders to proactively identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, contractual, and business risks
✅ Lead legal strategy and execution for acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions from diligence through integration
✅ Advise executive leadership on significant legal, compliance, and business risks while developing practical solutions that support growth objectives
✅ Serve as the primary point of contact for outside counsel and oversee legal spend and external legal relationships
✅ Support corporate governance activities, Board matters, and executive-level reporting
✅ Help shape the company's responsible use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, as regulatory requirements continue to evolve
Qualifications:
What We're Looking For
✔ Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership
✔ Significant experience supporting commercial transactions, corporate matters, and executive leadership teams
✔ Strong background in contract negotiation and business counseling
✔ Experience leading complex legal, regulatory, compliance, or risk management initiatives
✔ Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, private equity-backed environments, or high-growth companies preferred
✔ Ability to assess risk, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
✔ Strong leadership skills with experience managing professionals and external legal resources
✔ Entrepreneurial mindset with a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving
