Billing Specialist

We are looking for a detail-focused Billing Specialist to support accurate invoicing operations and client account management in Troy, Michigan. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can investigate billing issues, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and keep records organized in a fast-paced environment. The role will play an important part in weekly billing activity, payment tracking, and maintaining strong service relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:
• Examine billing records to identify missing information, inconsistencies, and visit-related discrepancies, then coordinate follow-up to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and submit invoices in alignment with individual client billing guidelines and required timelines.
• Research denied or rejected billings, resolve issues efficiently, and respond to client questions regarding charges and account activity.
• Maintain accounts receivable records by posting payments, updating balances, and monitoring overdue items for follow-up.
• Generate recurring reports that summarize weekly billing results, including sales and cost-related data.
• Provide support to colleagues and related teams on billing corrections, visit documentation, and payroll-connected questions.
• Create and update written procedures to keep billing processes clear, consistent, and well documented.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client organizations to support smooth communication and service continuity.
• Contribute to additional assignments and special projects as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

• Experience with billing operations, invoicing workflows, and computerized billing systems.
• Knowledge of billing collections, billing statements, and account follow-up practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to review records carefully and detect discrepancies.
• Analytical and methodical problem-solving skills for researching issues and resolving billing exceptions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and remain dependable in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation, reports, and financial tracking records.

Compensation

$22.00-$25.00 Hourly
