Network Security Engineer- Cloudflare

We are looking for a Network Security Engineer with strong Cloudflare expertise to support a security-focused environment. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on specialist who can maintain and optimize an existing deployment while strengthening network protection across cloud-based infrastructure. The role sits within the energy and natural resources sector and will focus on keeping services secure, stable, and well-supported.

Responsibilities:
• Administer and support the existing Cloudflare environment to maintain secure and reliable network services.
• Monitor web application firewall policies and traffic behavior, making adjustments that improve protection and performance.
• Troubleshoot network security issues across cloud-connected systems and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Partner with internal technology teams to provide guidance on Cloudflare capabilities, configurations, and operational best practices.
• Review current security settings and recommend practical enhancements that align with business and infrastructure needs.
• Support ongoing management of AWS-related network security controls where they intersect with Cloudflare services.
• Document configurations, operational procedures, and issue resolution steps to improve continuity and support readiness.
• Assist with the transition of Cloudflare platform ownership by providing technical oversight and day-to-day operational support.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience supporting the Cloudflare platform in a production environment.
• Strong background in network security engineering, including traffic management and secure access principles.
• Experience working with web application firewall technologies and policy administration.
• Practical knowledge of AWS infrastructure and its relationship to network security controls.
• Ability to support and troubleshoot an established environment without extensive oversight.
• Solid understanding of core networking concepts such as DNS, HTTP/S, routing, and proxy services.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues and recommendations clearly.

Compensation

$79.16-$91.66 Hourly
