Sr. Accountant

Compensation: $47.50 to $55 Hourly

We are looking for a skilled Sr. Accountant to join a Long-term Contract opportunity. This position will support core accounting operations by overseeing close activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to cash, fixed asset, and lease accounting processes. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, applies strong technical accounting knowledge, and works effectively across finance and operations teams.


Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close support by preparing and recording journal entries and helping ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items with appropriate documentation.

• Assist with financial reporting deliverables and maintain reliable accounting records that support internal and external review needs.

• Coordinate weekly payment activity, monitor cash positions, and contribute to short-range cash forecasting and treasury planning efforts.

• Maintain fixed asset records, track capital projects in progress, and place completed assets into service in accordance with company policy.

• Administer capital expenditure documentation and support proper capitalization, depreciation, and account reconciliation for asset-related activity.

• Oversee lease accounting records within LeaseQuery, including entries, reconciliations, reporting, and updates tied to lease changes.

• Respond to audit requests and compile schedules and backup materials needed to support compliance and financial accuracy.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing, food production, or consumer products settings.

• Demonstrated background in month-end close, journal entry preparation, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.

• Hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting, capital project tracking, and lease accounting processes.

• Familiarity with cash management activities such as disbursements, bank reconciliations, and short-term forecasting is preferred.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with pivot tables, lookups, and detailed spreadsheet analysis.

• Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Canopy, or LeaseQuery is highly valued.

• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, analyze issues effectively, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.


Compensation

$47.50-$55.00 Hourly
