Staff Accountant
About the Opportunity
A well-established manufacturing company specializing in windows, doors, and exterior products is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its accounting operations. This hands-on position will handle general ledger activity, reconciliations, cash receipts, billing support, inventory accounting, and other responsibilities across multiple entities.
This role offers growth potential into a Senior Accountant position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly general ledger closing entries based on established checklists
- Complete monthly general ledger and bank account reconciliations
- Apply cash receipts to customer invoices
- Support customer account receipts, statements, and sales invoice entry in QuickBooks Desktop
- Process intercompany sales invoice adjustments at month-end
- Calculate estimated builders’ revenue using schedules and create invoices
- Complete monthly billing integration into the Dynamics Great Plains general ledger
- Close and reconcile the QuickBooks general ledger for a satellite company
- Support inventory receiving and enter paid bills into QuickBooks Desktop
- Add job codes and margin information in Great Plains
- Assist with IFTA fuel tax filings and vendor compliance requests
- Provide certificates of insurance and W-9 documentation
- Support annual physical inventory, including ticket ordering, lot releases, cutoff research, exception reporting, and reconciliation
- Prepare inventory obsolescence reports and assist the CFO with final review
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- At least five years of accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong technical skills and ability to learn new systems
- Experience with Dynamics Great Plains and QuickBooks Desktop preferred
- Experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and invoicing
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to work independently and know when to seek additional guidance
- Strong ethics and a commitment to accuracy
- Stable employment history preferred
Compensation
