Transportation Coordinator

Keep Trucks, Materials, and Projects Moving in the Right Direction

Our client is a busy construction materials company in Oceanside that is hiring a Transportation Coordinator to support daily deliveries throughout San Diego County. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys coordinating drivers, customers, vendors, and internal operations.

You'll be at the center of the action, making sure materials arrive when they're needed and helping the team quickly resolve scheduling or delivery issues. Construction, logistics, dispatch, or transportation experience will all translate well into this position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily delivery schedules for drivers and customers
• Schedule pickups and deliveries based on project timelines
• Communicate delivery times and updates to customers
• Monitor driver routes and shipment progress
• Adjust schedules when delays, traffic, or last-minute changes occur
• Maintain delivery tickets, bills of lading, and transportation records
• Coordinate with warehouse and yard personnel regarding material availability
• Enter orders and delivery information into internal systems
• Communicate with drivers throughout the day regarding route changes
• Investigate delivery discrepancies and customer concerns
• Prepare daily transportation reports
• Assist Operations leadership with scheduling and process improvement

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of transportation, dispatch, logistics, construction, or operations experience
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Ability to remain calm and organized when schedules change
• Comfortable communicating with drivers, customers, and vendors
• Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience with dispatch, routing, ERP, or transportation software preferred
• Construction or building materials experience is a plus
