Job Description

The Harvard Law School (“Program”) offers students the opportunity to integrate law, leadership, and life through the study, debate, and application of the teaching of the Bible. We help students connect learning with conviction, inquiry with relationships, ideas with character, research with hope, gifts with purpose, and values with action. We seek to inspire confidence in biblical law as a source of truth powerful enough to meet global challenges, yet personal enough to inspire individual purpose.

The Program seeks an experienced, highly motivated, exceptionally organized, and technically savvy individual to perform a wide range of complex and confidential tasks to plan and execute Program initiatives and events. Excellent management and communication skills are required for responsibilities that include planning of Program events, collaboration with Program affiliates and donors, financial administration and budgeting, development of marketing materials, maintenance of Program websites, and preparation of program reports. The candidate must be an initiative taker, able to lead assigned initiatives and events independently with minimal supervision, while coordinating multiple tasks with grace, finesse, humility, and attention to detail. This Program is growing quickly; a qualified candidate will be able to step into new opportunities as they present themselves. We are looking for candidates who have a genuine passion for the Program’s mission.

The position reports to the Program’s Executive Director and supports the work of the Executive Director as well as other members of the Program team.

As a Finance and Administrative Manager you will:

  • Manage program operations, financial administration, and budget preparation and tracking/forecasting; maintain records, reconcile and process expenses; provide policy interpretation; develop and implement administrative systems to enhance the Program’s operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Manage all aspects of the Program’s day-to-day activities; plan and oversee implementation of initiatives and events
  • Serve as a primary administrative point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; support partnership and fundraising-related efforts; conduct Program evaluation, metrics analysis and administrative research in coordination with Program leadership
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external audiences, establishing good rapport and relationships, including writing and editing reports, newsletters, and research proposals for board, administration, third party, and other audiences; lead digital media strategy and content; manage Program’s communication platforms and maintain relationships with networks of students, faculty, staff, and alumni
  • Provide leadership and manage hiring, onboarding, staff appointments, and employee related logistic, including workload management and student/fellowship-related activity; manage the visiting fellows program; program and related curriculum development
  • Manage the Program’s offices and facilities; lead Program’s library initiative; liaise and represent the Program with students, staff, and faculty

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for people with:

  • Graduate degree in a related field a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in financial administration, budgeting, event planning, and program/project management
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, an ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong written, verbal, editing, proofreading, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to represent the Program professionally
  • Demonstrated writing, basic graphic design and social media skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and communications/design applications, such as Paperless Post, Canva, and MailChimp

Additional Information

Appointment End Date: This is a one-year term appointment with potential for renewal, subject to departmental need.

Standard Hours/Schedule: Full-time. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

This is an in-person/on-campus position based in Cambridge, MA. There is limited flexibility for remote work during summers and law school breaks.
