Controller
Responsibilities:
• Direct the general ledger and oversee an accurate, timely month-end close, including preparation of financial statements and final book close activities.
• Support the organization through an active audit by coordinating schedules, responding to requests, and ensuring documentation is complete and organized.
• Manage key accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and multiple bank reconciliations.
• Apply consistent revenue recognition practices across varied revenue sources and maintain clear supporting documentation for review and compliance purposes.
• Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and standardized procedures to improve reporting accuracy and repeatability.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, explain material variances, and deliver reporting that helps leadership and the board understand financial performance.
• Provide financial insight for business decisions related to investments, pricing strategies, and contract evaluation.
• Supervise and support direct reports within the accounting function while helping the team scale through disciplined processes and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal financial reporting and accounting requirements.
• Maintain dependable reporting across financial systems and tools so data ties out cleanly from source records to final reports.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within a controller or senior accounting capacity.• Strong command of month-end close, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
• Demonstrated experience with revenue recognition accounting across multiple revenue streams.
• Hands-on background in payroll oversight, accounts payable, and reconciliation activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and familiarity with financial reporting or dashboard tools.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to executives, board stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills with a detail-oriented approach.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced setting where both execution and process improvement are expected.
